Osprey Talon G1 Hardware Encoder

Osprey Talon Encoder is a small form-factor H.264 video encoder designed to be easy to use, portable, and easily stream both your standard definition and high definition content to broadband and mobile networks in H.264 to RTMP servers. It features a fanless design with a low power consumption of <6W. The wide input voltage range of 9VDC – 17VDC also make it a perfect candidate for battery operated equipment and installations. The Talon features two operating modes. MBR mode allows to stream one source to three destinations, LC mode is ideal for lecture capturing as it allows two sources to be streamed to two destinations.

Osprey Ceylon is an H.264 encoding desktop application to complement our existing line of video capture cards. Using Ceylon with an Osprey capture card enables the live web broadcast and archiving of church events, sporting events, webcasts, and concerts to be delivered to computers, connected TVs, tablets, and mobile devices.

Osprey Ceylon Desktop Edition will work with all currently supported Osprey cards. Unlike many of the other applications, Osprey Ceylon is specifically designed to work with Osprey Capture Cards and exposes Osprey specific properties that no other capture application does.

System Requirements for Success with HD

The Osprey high definition (HD) video capture cards require intense bandwidth across the system bus, CPU, and memory. The host computer system capabilities (CPU, RAM, and motherboard) must be capable of processing this amount of data. The following system requirements are required to achieve the best HD performance.

Install the Osprey video capture card in a PCI Express® (PCIe®) slot with direct lanes to the CPU or a Northbridge or IOH.

The selection of the CPU is critical. To process full HD video on both channels of the Osprey 820e, the minimum processors required are dual i7-3930K@3.2GHz.

FIBER EXTENDERS

The 3GSFE 3G-SDI Fiber Extender Kit from Osprey is designed to transport 3G-SDI signals over extended distances using fiber optic cable. This solution can be used to transport signals up to 12 miles. USB 3.0 VIDEO CAPTURE

The USB Video Bridge capture device series includes 3G-SDI and HDMI models providing wide-ranging adaptability for complex workflows. Connecting directly to your computer’s USB 3.0 port, the Video Bridge is true plug-and-play, requiring no drivers in Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X.

Two control scenarios support varying user requirements. Software control mode passes all available rates and resolutions to the capture software. Manual mode allows the pre-selection of a frame rate and resolution, allowing the user to control the load delivered to the USB bus.
